Webster County Animal Control officials have announced a new partnership that turns mobile screen time into real-world kibble.
The shelter has partnered with the “Treat App,” a mobile game that lets players send free food and treats to shelter dogs in real life.
Staff says recent setup changes mean users must use a specific re-installation link to actually find the Webster County facility on the app.
If the shelter can reach a quarterly goal of 30 users signing up through that specific link, officials say it unlocks a milestone reward of nearly 2,000 pounds of dry dog food, along with extra treats and promotion.
They say game players will also receive notifications directly to their phones whenever a dog they are helping finds a forever home.
Shelter officials say the links are available across their official social media platforms.
