The Hopkins County Health Department is inviting the community to a special presentation addressing the growing impact of artificial intelligence on local youth.

The event, titled “Is Your Child Safe from the AI Trap?”, is scheduled for Thursday, June 11th, at Madisonville Community College.

According to the local health department, 72 percent of young people are now turning to A-I companions for answers regarding sensitive topics like mental health, identity, and personal safety. Organizers say the workshop aims to equip parents, teachers, and counselors with practical tools to navigate these digital risks.

The featured speaker is Dwight Bain, a nationally recognized mental health expert and former “Counselor of the Year” in Florida.

The program runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 11th, in the Community Room of the Steve Beshear Building. While the event is free, officials indicate a light meal will be served at 5:00 p.m. for those who arrive early.

Pre-registration is required. You can sign up by calling 270-821-5242, extension 228, or by scanning the Q-R code found on the event flyer included in this story on our website wfmwradio.com.
