Motorists in Hopkins County should prepare for a temporary road closure next week as crews work to improve local drainage.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to block a section of KY 112 on Monday to allow for a cross-drain replacement. The work is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and wrap up by 3 p.m.
The closure will be located between the Interstate 69 overpass and Ilsley Spur Lane.
While there will not be a marked detour for the project, officials advise drivers to bypass the work zone by using U.S. 62 and KY 454.
State transportation officials say the one-day project is weather-permitting and subject to change. Drivers are urged to exercise caution when approaching work crews in the area.
