The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is advising Hopkins County drivers to prepare for several work zones and potential delays this week as maintenance crews hit the roads.
Mowing crews will be active on various routes throughout the county this week. While officials do not expect lane closures for mowing, motorists are urged to use caution when passing equipment.
On Interstate 69, two separate projects are underway:
-
Between the 108 and 109 mile markers, crews are addressing drainage issues. Transportaton officials indicate no lane closures are expected for this work.
-
From the 122 to 125 mile markers, brush cutting operations will require a lane closure throughout the week. Drivers should be prepared to merge and expect slow-moving traffic.
The Transportation Cabinet has scheduled maintenance for KY 1034, with ditching work between mile markers 0 and 2 requiring a lane closure all week as crews clear debris to improve drainage.
Drivers are urged to stay focused and be watchful for workers in all construction areas.
