Dawson Springs Board Approves Working Budget, Celebrates Strong Attendance

The Dawson Springs Board of Education approved the working budget and heard encouraging news on student enrollment and attendance at Monday’s meeting.

Superintendent Leonard Whalen shared that since school began on August 19th, enrollment has topped 600 students with attendance rates above 94%.

click to download audioHe highlighted that this year’s 94.44% attendance rate marks a notable improvement for the district compared to previous years.

Whalen also reminded everyone how proud they are of the high school’s recent ranking as 29th out of 235 eligible high schools in Kentucky by US News and World Report.
