Tyson Foods Announces $23.5 Million Upgrade in Henderson County

Governor Andy Beshear announced Thursday that Tyson Foods will invest nearly $23.5 million in its Henderson County facility, helping retain more than 1,100 jobs.

Gov. Beshear said that Tyson Foods plans for new equipment and upgrades to the existing plant in Robards.

According to officials, Tyson Foods Inc. is one of the world’s largest food companies, recognized as a leader in protein production. Founded in 1935 by John W. Tyson and guided by four generations of family leadership, the company’s brands include Tyson, Jimmy Dean, Hillshire Farm, Ball Park, Wright, Aidells, IBP, and State Fair. Headquartered in Springdale, Arkansas, Tyson Foods employs around 138,000 team members and is known for ongoing innovation to make protein more accessible and affordable worldwide.

Commissioner of Agriculture Jonathan Shell said in a written statement that Kentucky’s food and agriculture sector remains strong, with Tyson Foods’ investment serving as further proof. He emphasized Tyson’s more than 30-year partnership with the state’s farmers and communities. He said that this expansion not only supports 1,100 Kentucky jobs, but it also shows real confidence in the future of Kentucky agriculture and the state’s workforce.
