Madisonville Police Chief Shares Training Academy Update, May Activities

Madisonville Police Chief Steve Bryan provided the city council with an update at Monday’s meeting on the police training academy and activities for May.

According to Chief Bryan, the first class at the training academy is graduating on Wednesday.

click to download audioHe also presented the monthly report for May, noting that the department answered more than 4,300 calls, made over 300 arrests, and handled more than 50 accidents throughout the month.

click to download audioHe stated that the estimated street value of the drugs confiscated during the month exceeded $3,100.

click to download audioChief Bryan said the highest time for traffic accidents was around 3 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Calendar year to date, he reported that Part 1 crimes were down 29% in May, while all other crimes were down 24%, resulting in a total crime reduction of 24%.
