The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced several work zone maintenance projects scheduled to begin this week in Hopkins County.
State crews will be out in full force all week conducting mowing operations on various routes throughout the county.
If your commute takes you along Interstate 69, prepare for lane closures all week long as crews tackle brush cutting along the highway.
Ditching work is also on the agenda. Crews will be working on KY 1246 from Monday through Wednesday, and then shifting to KY 1034 on Thursday and Friday. Expect lane closures and minor delays near both ditching sites.
Contractors are also planning guardrail maintenance on Tuesday for I-69 northbound near the 125-mile marker.
Transportation officials remind drivers that all work is weather-dependent and subject to change. Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution in all work zones.
