A local aviation pioneer is getting his wings—in the form of a permanent legacy. Madisonville Community College surprised a longtime advocate last week by renaming its aviation hub in his honor.

Surrounded by friends, instructors, and family, A.D. Pollock looked on as MCC held a ribbon-cutting on the Muhlenberg County campus to officially rename the A.D. Pollock Center for Aviation.

College officials say the honor is a long time coming. Pollock was a founding advocate for the school’s aviation program and has remained a steadfast supporter from its first days to its current success.

Leaders at the college say the program’s growth—and the success of its student pilots—simply wouldn’t have been possible without Pollock’s instrumental support over the years.
