Last week at the Mahr Park Arboretum, staff and dedicated garden volunteers rolled up their sleeves to make a difference in the landscape—and in the community.

According to park officials, one of the garden beds now features 113 native plants in a natural area, specifically chosen to prevent erosion, beautify the landscape, and provide crucial support for pollinators in the environment

They said a second flower bed serves as a living tribute, inspired by Dr. Hamman, honoring the founding physicians of the Trover Clinic, including Dr. Merle Mahr. Officials said their lasting legacy continues to inspire a spirit of care, community, and connection at this special place.
