
The Hopkins County Grand Jury has issued several indictments in a range of cases, including charges related to electronic crimes involving minors, theft, wanton endangerment, and drug offenses.
A true bill was returned on Cody Ellison of Madisonville on two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and second-degree persistent felony offender.
The charges are from December 9, 2025, when Madisonville Police assisted Probation and Parole officers at a home on White Tail Court after Ellison reportedly violated his parole. Police said two children, ages three and four, were found in the home near drug paraphernalia, and later tested positive for fentanyl exposure at a local hospital. Police said the children were later transported to an Evansville-area facility for further observation.
Ricky Holzhauser of Earlington was indicted on charges of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
The charges are from an incident on February 14th, following an investigation by the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office.
Alexis Massey of Madisonville was indicted on charges of public intoxication and falsely reporting an incident by giving false reports to emergency response authorities.
The charges are from February 12th, when Madisonville Police responded to a residence on West Noel Avenue after receiving a text message from Massey, stating that a man was threatening to kill her and her family. Police said she later sent a text to Central Dispatch stating that she was “tripping” and was wrong.
Deputies said Massey admitted she had a pipe hidden in her pants and a baggie of meth in her bra, which she handed over to authorities.
Three separate indictments were returned against Keph McCune of Dawson Springs on three counts of third-degree assault for incidents on January 13th, February 2nd, and February 8th. He is accused of assaulting an inmate and a law enforcement officer at the Hopkins County Detention Center during these dates.
Additionally, McCune was indicted for second-degree strangulation in connection with the incident on February 2nd.
Two separate indictments were returned on Kimberly Thompson of Madisonville on a charge of second-degree criminal abuse of a child under the age of 12 from December 10, 2025, and first-degree trafficking methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The drug-related charges are from February 21st, after Madisonville Police reported officers were searching for a fugitive at Pride Place Apartments, and they discovered meth pipes, suspected meth, marijuana, and cash linked to trafficking.
After Thompson was taken into custody, police said she was served a Hopkins County Complaint Warrant for second-degree criminal abuse of a child under the age of 12.
And a true bill was returned on Gregory Banks of Georgetown on three counts of prohibited use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual activity by using a communication system, including computers, cellular telephones, or electronic means.
Banks is accused of contacting a minor online, sending obscene material, and discussing sexual acts during incidents that allegedly took place between February 10th and February 12th. The Madisonville Police Department investigated the case.
