The Hopkins County Tourist and Convention Commission has announced the return of the 5th Annual Great Restaurant Race this April, inviting both residents and visitors to explore the vibrant local dining scene. Everyone who completes the challenge will receive a prize and a chance to win Food for a Year in Hopkins County.
Participants are invited to dine at 12 different Hopkins County restaurants at any time from April 1st to 30th, keep their receipts, and upload them online. Everyone who completes the race will receive an official Great Restaurant Race Finisher Prize.
In addition to the guaranteed finisher prize, officials say one grand prize winner will be randomly selected from all eligible finishers to receive a $50 gift card to each of the 12 restaurants they submitted, for a total of $600 in local dining.
In a written statement, Communications Director for the Hopkins County Tourist and Convention Commission Colbi Ferguson said that the county has an incredible variety of dining options, and the Great Restaurant Race is a fun way to experience them. This year, she added, they wanted to make sure everyone who completes the race is rewarded, while also offering a grand prize that celebrates Hopkins County restaurants. She noted it’s about exploring, supporting local, and enjoying great food all month long.
According to officials, there are 110 restaurants in Hopkins County, 55 of them are locally owned, non-chain eateries.
To enter, submit original receipts from twelve different Hopkins County restaurants—carry-out, dine-in, drive-thru, or delivery all count. Receipts must be dated on or after April 1st to be eligible, and must show the restaurant name, date, and amount. Only one entry per household is eligible, and each receipt must be unique and not duplicated for multiple entries. All entries must be submitted by April 30 at midnight.
