A Madisonville man has been arrested after an investigation into child sexual abuse material.
According to Madisonville Police, detectives began an investigation after they received information on Monday that 36-year-old Christoper McBride had purchased and downloaded child sexual abuse material back in February of last year.
On Tuesday, investigators said they made contact with McBride at his home. During an interview, detectives said McBride admitted to obtaining a video involving explicit material featuring a child. According to police, the transaction took place on the so-called “Dark Web.”
McBride was taken into custody and charged with possessing material of a sexual performance by a minor older than 12 but younger than 18 years old. He was booked into the Hopkins County Jail.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
