A man was arrested on multiple charges after police were sent to a call about a suspicious person at a Madisonville apartment complex last week.
According to Madisonville Police, officers responded to Cross Creek Apartments shortly after 7:30 Thursday night after a concerned resident noticed a suspicious person following her while she walked her dog.
The caller told police the man, believed to be under the influence, entered what she thought was a vacant apartment.
Officers, with help from a neighbor and the complex manager, made contact with the man, who they say repeatedly provided false names to law enforcement.
After further investigation and a consented search of the apartment, officers identified the man as 41-year-old Joseph Vibbert of Bowling Green. Police say they found a glass pipe, vape pens with suspected THC, and a small torch in the apartment. They also noted Vibbert had multiple active arrest warrants in other counties.
Vibbert was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication, second-degree burglary, giving an officer false identifying information, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Hopkins County Jail.
