Housing Growth Takes Spotlight at State of the Cities and County Address

Housing—an issue impacting communities both locally and across the nation—took center stage during the Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce’s State of the Cities and County address last week, as local leaders shared ongoing efforts to increase housing options and support economic growth in Hopkins County.

Event moderator Jason Vincent prompted Judge-Executive Jack Whitfield and Madisonville Mayor Kevin Cotton to discuss the development of multi-housing facilities in Dawson Springs and other parts of the county and the City of Madisonville.

Judge Whitfield says efforts have been underway for several years to expand housing options, explaining that you can’t have economic development without people. He pointed out that Dawson Springs is home to one of the largest ongoing projects in the county.
