Alonzo Ramirez mugshot/Hopkins County Jail

A traffic stop in Madisonville ended with a man’s arrest after police say he presented forged documents and committed several other offenses.

Madisonville Police say 28-year-old Alonzo Cordona Ramirez was pulled over on South Main Street around 8:40 p.m. Friday night after officers noticed his vehicle’s rear license plate was not illuminated.

During the stop, police say Ramirez handed over an expired insurance card, a foreign ID, and a questionable International Driver’s Permit that appeared to be forged due to several inconsistencies. Officers noted Ramirez could not provide a valid Kentucky or U.S. driver’s license, nor a passport.

Ramirez was taken into custody and charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, failure to illuminate his rear license plate, driving without a valid license, and not providing proof of insurance.

He was booked into the Hopkins County Jail.
