GE Aerospace has announced plans to invest another $1 billion in its U.S. Manufacturing sites and supplier base this year, including its Madisonville facility.
This is the second consecutive year GE Aerospace has made a $1 billion investment to support facilities in over 30 communities across 17 states. Following the hiring of 5,000 new team members last year, the company plans to add another 5,000 U.S. workers in manufacturing and engineering roles this year.
Officials say more than $275 million of the $1 billion is planned to upgrade sites producing defense engines and components, helping strengthen the U.S. defense industrial base to deliver at pace for the warfighter’s evolving needs.
According to Monday’s announcement, $10 million will be invested at the Madisonville site to add new machines, increasing part production, inspection equipment, tooling, and facility upgrades.
In March 2025, GE Aerospace announced a $200 million investment in military engine production at its sites in Madisonville and Lynn, Massachusetts, aimed at ramping up for the new T901 Black Hawk and Apache helicopter engines, while continuing production of other military engines and expanding its workforce.
The hiring news this week follows GE Aerospace’s announcement last fall of a new $30 million initiative from the GE Aerospace Foundation, aimed at training 10,000 workers with manufacturing skills by 2030 to help support the entire industry.
