Ben Prevette Honored with Pennyrile Region Golden Owl Award

An agriculture teacher at Hopkins County Central High School has been recognized for his outstanding dedication and impact in agricultural education.

According to officials with the Kentucky FFA Association, Ben Prevette is the recipient of the Pennyrile Region Golden Owl Award.

Officials highlighted a community member’s praise for Prevette, describing him as a model FFA teacher who brings professionalism, experience, and a true commitment to student success both in agriculture and in life, noting that his strong connections with students and the positive impact he makes in the classroom truly set him apart.

Kentucky’s Golden Owl Award is sponsored by Nationwide. Regional winners receive a $500 check and the chance to compete for the state’s Ag Educator of the Year title, which comes with a $3,000 award and the prestigious Golden Owl trophy.

State FFA officials congratulated Prevette and thanked him for setting the standard for excellence in agricultural education.
