Three Indiana residents were arrested Friday after a police pursuit on Interstate 69 that started in Madisonville and ended with a crash in Henderson County.

Madisonville Police say officers observed a northbound vehicle driving recklessly near the 111-mile marker. When police attempted a traffic stop, officers said the driver fled, and occupants in the vehicle were seen discarding suspected evidence.

According to police, the vehicle took Exit 117, at which time officers ended their initial pursuit near two active school zones for safety. Another officer later resumed the chase as the vehicle re-entered I-69 at the 120-mile marker hearing northbound toward Slaughters. The pursuit reportedly continued on I-69 until the vehicle crashed near the 149-mile marker in Henderson County, after the driver, 27-year-old Ronzay Buckner of Indianapolis, lost control. Police say Buckner then fled on foot but was captured near the Henderson County Fairgrounds.

Buckner, along with his two passengers, 23-year-old Jashon Samuel from Terre Haute, Indiana, and 18-year-old Aaviyona Jolley from Indianapolis, Indiana, were taken into custody.

Authorities said Buckner was identified as a suspect wanted on five active arrest warrants in multiple states for various felony charges, and had two additional active warrants for offenses in other Kentucky counties.

Buckner faces twelve charges, including several traffic violations, wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle, fleeing or evading police on foot, operating a motor vehicle on a suspended or revoked license, DUI, marijuana trafficking, and tampering with physical evidence.

Samuel and Jolley were each charged with tampering with physical evidence.

All three subjects were lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
