Love is in the air, and this Valentine’s weekend, the Webster County Animal Care and Control is hoping you’ll find a furry soulmate ready to steal your heart and maybe your favorite spot on the couch.
According to Diane Duncan with the animal shelter, the Valentine’s Day pet adoption event will take place this Saturday in Madisonville. She says they will have six dogs at the event, all of whom have been spayed or neutered, with adoption fees fully sponsored.
Duncan explains that the shelter is currently over capacity and urgently needs to place these dogs in permanent homes. She notes that Webster County has received several bad cases and additional dogs from Hopkins County, which has been without an animal shelter since April 2025, contributing to an increased number of dogs now in their care.
The adoption event will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Cricket Wireless at 530 Island Ford Road in Madisonville.
