Authorities are investigating a home invasion in Madisonville that led to a shooting Friday afternoon.
According ot the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call about a home invasion in the 600 block of Fowler Road just before 5:00 p.m. Friday, where the homeowner had reportedly shot the suspect.
Authorities say a preliminary investigation revealed the intruder had forced entry into the home, leading to a struggle with the homeowner. Deputies say the homeowner grabbed a firearm and shot the suspect during the struggle inside the residence.
The Sheriff’s Office has not released the names of those involved, and noted their current medical conditions are unknown at this time.
The investigation into the home invasion and shooting is ongoing.
