
A man was found deceased in one of two unrelated house fires that happened in Madisonville on Monday morning.
Madisonville Police and Fire Departments responded to the first fire shortly before 10:00 a.m. Monday in the 400 block of Alan Drive.
Police said neighbors reported hearing an explosion at the residence before flames became visible.
According to police, a 64-year-old man was found deceased inside the home, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Police said the second fire was reported around noon Monday in the 200 block of West Arch Street, where two people inside the residence were evacuated.
Authorities reported that a male in the home suffered severe burns and was transported to the hospital. Police indicated the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Police stated the two incidents are not connected and are being investigated as separate cases.
