Nortonville Pedestrian Killed in Hopkins County Collision

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Hopkins County Tuesday night.

According to Kentucky State Police Post 2, they were requested to assist with a fatal collision involving a single vehicle and a pedestrian around 5:50 p.m. that occurred at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Old Nortonville-White Plains Road in Nortonville.

Authorities say a preliminary investigation indicates that a sedan driven by a Hopkins County man struck a pedestrian, identified as 69-year-old Joseph Davis of Nortonville, who was reported to be standing in the road. Police say Davis was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hopkins County coroner.

The investigation into the fatal collision is ongoing by Kentucky State Police.
