Jeremy Hamby/Hopkins County Jail mugshot
A traffic stop in Madisonville over the weekend led to the arrest of a Daviess County man on drug trafficking charges.
According to Madisonville Police, a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Jeremy Hamby of Island was stopped on South Seminary Street shortly after 12:15 a.m. Saturday due to excessive window tint. During the stop, police say Hamby appeared nervous, avoided eye contact, and made suspicious movements, including repeatedly placing his hand between the door and seat.
After getting consent to search his vehicle, officers said they found a baggie containing meth between the driver’s seat and door, and Hamby was taken into custody. During a further search, police reported two more baggies of suspected meth were found in Hamby’s clothing.
Hamby was charged with trafficking meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, excessive windshield/window tint, and failure to produce an insurance card. He was booked into the Hopkins County Jail.
