
Deputy City Administrator Brad Long briefed the City Council on his recent experience presenting at the International Council of Shopping Centers conference in New York, where the City of Madisonville earned national recognition.
Mayor Kevin Cotton told the Council that Long represented Madisonville as a guest panelist at last week’s International Council of Shopping Centers, or ICSC, conference. He asked Long to step up to the podium, where he shared that it was an honor for the city to participate in an event attended by more than 8,000 people.
click to download audioLong also said they received news on Monday that the City of Madisonville was featured in an article by the ICSC, and added that the recognition from the worldwide organization is a “big deal.”
click to download audioIn new business, City Clerk Kim Blue presented a resolution to declare an unused transformer and four tools from the Electric Department as surplus for disposal, which the Council approved.
The Council also approved a resolution declaring vehicles and equipment from Wastewater Collection as surplus.
click to download audioIn addition, the Council approved another resolution declaring a generator as surplus and donating it to the local Humane Society.
