Hopkins Fiscal Court Approves Funding for Jireh Restoration Center

The Hopkins County Fiscal Court on Tuesday approved a funding recommendation from the Opioid Fund Committee for much-needed renovations at the Jireh Restoration Center in Hanson.

County Attorney Lee Riddle introduced Scott and Sandy Sallee, directors of the Jireh Restoration Center, and invited them to the podium to explain how the $40,000 in funding would be utilized.

click to download audioSallee shared that both he and his wife are recovering addicts—he has been clean for seven years, and Sandy for just over three. He said God has been good to them and they want to pay it forward.

Responding to a question from Judge Executive Jack Whitfield Jr., Sallee explained that adding more showers would enable the Center to increase its capacity and serve more individuals.

click to download audioHis wife Sandy said the program typically lasts six months but can be extended based on individual needs. She explained that Jireh provides a safe and supportive environment for individuals who have completed treatment, serving as a level two transitional housing facility.

District 5 Magistrate Billy Parrish expressed his support for the work being done at the Jireh Restoration Center.
