Atmos Energy has announced a new $2 million donation to support energy assistance programs across the eight states it serves, including Kentucky.

The funding will help families settle overdue natural gas bills, make home weatherization upgrades, and repair or replace customer-owned gas appliances and piping, and this latest contribution follows $1.5 million the company donated in September — bringing its total 2025 assistance investment to $3.5 million.

In Kentucky, the funds will be distributed through several local nonprofits, including Audubon Area Community Services, Bluegrass Community Action Agency, Community Action of Southern Kentucky, the Help Office of Owensboro, Lake Cumberland Community Action, Pennyrile Allied Community Services, the Salvation Army and West Kentucky Allied Services.

Customers needing help with utility costs can call 211 or visit atmosenergy.com/assistance to find an agency. Atmos Energy also encourages customers facing financial challenges or needing to reconnect service to call 888-286-6700 or log into the Atmos Energy Account Center.

The company is also inviting customers to donate to “Sharing the Warmth,” a program that directs 100% of contributions to households in need.

Public Affairs Manager Kay Coomes said the goal is to support seniors, people with disabilities, veterans, and families experiencing financial hardship as winter approaches.

Coomes added that Atmos Energy remains committed to providing safe and reliable natural gas service and encouraged customers to review the Winter Warm-Up Checklist to prepare for colder weather.
