A Madisonville man has been arrested on multiple charges after an investigation into suspected drug trafficking.

Madisonville Police reported that detectives from the Madisonville-Hopkins County Vice-Narcotics Unit went to a home in the 500 block of Jamestown Loop around 10 a.m. Monday to conduct a knock-and-talk following a tip about possible drug trafficking at the residence.

Police said that when detectives made contact with 29-year-old Travis Conrad at the door, they immediately noticed a strong smell of suspected marijuana coming from the home. Authorities noted that Conrad allowed investigators inside the kitchen and handed over two plastic bags containing suspected marijuana.

He then walked detectives through the rest of the house, where police said they found a tray with suspected marijuana and a marijuana grinder on his bed, along with $205 in cash in a nightstand drawer in his bedroom. Investigators also reported finding a large quantity of suspected marijuana, two bags of Diazepam pills, suspected THC wax, and several glass smoking devices throughout the residence. In the kitchen, detectives reportedly found a large digital scale with marijuana residue on top of the refrigerator.

Conrad was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficking in marijuana, and third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance. He was lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
