
The Madisonville City Council tackled several agenda items Monday night, approving a bid for fire department surplus and confirming a slate of appointments and reappointments to local boards.
City Clerk Kim Blue reported that a sole bid was received for the fire department surplus items.

The Council also approved the following municipal orders of appointments and reappointments to boards:
– Jack Morris was reappointed to the City of Madisonville Board of Ethics.
– Stephanie Townsell Bowles was reappointed to the Zoning Adjustment Board.
– Debby Myers, Chip Tate, James Garrett, Bill Powell, and Lawrence Swingler were appointed to the Code Enforcement Board.
– Bill Rudd was appointed to the Appeals Board.
– Andy Belcher was appointed to the Hopkins County Joint Planning Commission.
In other business, the Council approved the first reading of an ordinance for issuing general obligation bonds.

The Council also received reports from the Madisonville Fire and Police Departments, as well as updates from Madisonville City Park and Mahr Park.
