Drivers in Madisonville should prepare for possible delays as roadwork gets underway on East Center Street starting this Friday.
On Friday and Saturday, state transportation officials say crews will begin the process of milling the old asphalt along Center Street from just east of Interstate 69 to the CSX Railroad Bridge.
During this process, crews will grind down the top layer of asphalt to create a smoother road surface, including work on the turning lanes and the crossover at the end of the Interstate 69 southbound exit to Center Street.
The contractor is scheduled to return next week to repave this section of road on Monday and Tuesday.
