
A Princeton man has been charged in connection with a shooting that led to a man’s death on Beverly Lane Thursday morning.
Princeton Police say the shooting occurred in the 300 block of Beverly Lane around 2:40 am Officers were dispatched to a report of shots fired, with 34-year-old Jerrod Cooper of Princeton, who was injured.
Cooper was reportedly taken to Caldwell Medical Center ER and later flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville by helicopter where he died at 10:15 am.
Police say they were looking for 20-year-old Hector Miguel Pena of Princeton and had enough evidence to get a warrant for his arrest, charging him with murder.
Pena reportedly turned himself in to law enforcement later in the day, and he was taken to jail on the murder charge.
