A Paducah man previously arrested on drug trafficking charges in Madisonville now faces an additional organized crime charge after police linked him to a string of shoplifting incidents at local stores.

Madisonville Police report that officers served a warrant on 44-year-old Richard Senay on September 29, charging him with engaging in organized crime as part of an investigation into shoplifting incidents.

As previously reported by WFMW’s News Edge, Madisonville Police first arrested Senay on September 18, following a traffic stop on North Lee Trover Todd Highway. During a search of his vehicle, officers said they found meth, synthetic marijuana, drug paraphernalia, scales, several small baggies, and a handgun. Police said that upon his arrest, Senay also had a significant amount of meth and crushed Xanax pills in his possession.

In addition to the latest charge lodged against Senay, according to police, an investigation also resulted in the recent arrests of five more individuals: Markenis Seaborn, Bradley Crabtree, Crystal Goff, Tyler Morgan, and Maria Cruce. Senay and all five were charged with engaging in organized crime after police said they were involved in stealing or selling merchandise from several Madisonville retailers, including Dunham Sports, Bealls, and Lowe’s.

Senay remains lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
