A Madisonville woman is facing charges after police say she broke into a local mobile home and was caught on video with stolen property.
According to Madisonville Police, officers responded to a burglary complaint at Victoria Trailer Park on Dulin Street around 4:00 p.m. Friday. They said that a woman entered Lot 37 while the residents were asleep and then showed them a video of the suspect wearing a backpack stolen from the home. Police said witnesses also gave officers the residence where they saw the woman enter.
Police identified the woman in the video as 25-year-old Lauren Ferguson. They said she was found at Lot 17, wearing the same clothes seen in the footage. Officers said Ferguson admitted to entering the home and stealing a backpack.
Officers also reported Ferguson was unsteady on her feet and exhibited uncontrollable body movements while they were talking with her.
Ferguson was taken into custody and charged with second-degree burglary and public intoxication (excluding alcohol), and booked into Hopkins County Jail.
