Dillingham Appointed To Dawson Springs School Board, Tax Rates Set

Former Dawson Springs Independent School Board member Kent Dillingham was sworn in Monday night to fill the vacancy on the board created by the resignation of former board Chair Vicki Allen.

The board approved Dillingham’s appointment after Superintendent Leonard Whelan told the board that he was the only applicant for the vacancy.

Board Chairman Wes Ausenbaugh presented the recommended tax rates to the board.

The board voted to approve a revised School Resource Officer contract between the school district, Dawson Springs, and Hopkins County Fiscal Court.

Board members approved the job description for a Director of Pupil Personnel.

The board heard updates from each of the schools, with all reporting a successful start to the school year.

And board members approved a buyback option that establishes a $25,000 property insurance deductible for the district.
