Gas Prices Rise Across West Kentucky

Gas prices in West Central Kentucky are up six cents this week, averaging $2.83 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.

Around the News Edge listening area this week, it’s:

+ $2.92 in Trigg County
+ $2.67 in Christian County
+ $2.80 in Todd County
+ $2.84 in Caldwell County
+ $2.68 in Hopkins County
+ $2.65 in Marshall County
+ And $2.68 in Calloway County

In West Central Kentucky, today’s average is higher than last week’s $2.77 but still below last year’s $2.98. The region’s record high remains $4.74 from June 2022.

Current averages in select cities are:

+ Bowling Green – $2.93
+ Elizabethtown – $2.73
+ Louisville – $3.11
+ Owensboro – $2.72
+ Paducah – $2.66

Nationally, the average price rose three cents to $3.16, though it remains 19 cents cheaper than a year ago. Crude oil prices are still relatively low, limiting major spikes at the pump.

Elsewhere, the nation’s most expensive gas markets are led by California ($4.49), Hawaii ($4.46), and Washington ($4.39). The cheapest are Mississippi ($2.68), Oklahoma ($2.70), and Louisiana ($2.72).

Meanwhile, the national average cost of public EV charging remains steady at 36 cents per kilowatt hour. The highest charging costs are in Alaska (51 cents) and West Virginia (48 cents), while Kansas still offers the lowest at 25 cents.
