The American Veterans Traveling Tribute’s (AVTT) Vietnam Wall and Cost of Freedom Tribute will be on display in Madisonville this fall, offering the community a powerful opportunity to honor the sacrifices of America’s service members.
The exhibit will be set up at 755 Park Avenue in Madisonville from September 11–15, open daily from 10 AM until 9 PM.
The Traveling Vietnam Wall is an 80% replica of the original Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. The structure stands 8 feet tall at its highest point and stretches 360 feet long.
Alongside it, the Cost of Freedom Tribute pays tribute to veterans of other major conflicts, including World War I, World War II, Korea, Desert Storm, Somalia, 9/11, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
Organizers say the exhibit is not only a way to remember and honor those who served but also a chance to educate younger generations about the sacrifices made for freedom.
Mayor Kevin Cotton said bringing the traveling tribute to Madisonville gives residents a place to reflect, honor, and say thank you to those who gave everything for the freedoms enjoyed today. Event coordinator Kylah Doherty added that partnering with Madisonville Salutes will help make the tribute a meaningful experience for the community.
The event is seeking volunteers, donations, and community participation to help make it a success.
