Webster County Animal Shelter Adoption Event in Madisonville Saturday

The incoming manager of Webster County Animal Care and Control is making an urgent plea for help from the community, as the shelter hosts an adoption event in Madisonville this weekend in hopes of finding loving homes for dogs facing a dire situation.

Shelter volunteer Diana Duncan, who will become the shelter’s manager on August 1, says the adoption event is being held because, like many shelters in the area, they are facing low adoption rates and a high number of intakes.

Duncan explains that the situation is most dire for the dogs who have been waiting at the shelter for a year, not just the overall number of animals in their care.
