A Madisonville man is facing multiple charges following a hit and run on Booker T. Washington Street Wednesday evening.

According to Madisonville Police, officers responded to the area near Whiltshire Apartments around 5:15 p.m., after a caller reported that his vehicle, which was parked on Booker T. Washington Street, was struck by a truck. The caller’s younger brother reportedly saw the truck hit the truck and leave the scene, headed toward Whiltshire Apartments.

Police say they later found the driver, 46-year-old Roger Brasher, standing next to his vehicle in front of 635 Beaver Creek Drive. Officers noted that Brasher was clearly under the influence and saw evidence that he had driven over items in a yard before coming to a stop.

Brasher was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, fourth or subsequent offense with aggravating circumstances, leaving the scene of an accident without providing aid or assistance, not maintaining required insurance, possession of marijuana, and driving on a DUI-suspended license with aggravating circumstances. He was booked into the Hopkins County Jail.
