One of the biggest traditions for some cities is hay bale decorating. Included in this is Madisonville, where businesses and community members are being encouraged to sign up to decorate their own hay bale.
Many businesses have already began discussion for what their bale will look like this year. These themes can range from business advertisements, hay bale puns, or even a pickle!
You can sign up to decorate a hay bale in Mahr Park by visiting the Madisonville Living website or contacting city hall. Applications are due by August 1st and require a sketch of your design idea.
Once you receive your approval, the decorating time will be from September 19th through the 25th.
