A Madisonville man with an active warrant is now facing additional charges after fleeing from law enforcement over the weekend.
Madisonville Police say 36-year-old Travis Dorough, who was known to have an active warrant, was spotted by an officer walking south on South Main Street around 12:20 p.m. Saturday.
When the officer activated his blue lights and got out of his patrol car, Dorough reportedly took off running but was caught after a short chase.
During the arrest, officers said they found a small plastic baggie containing a crystal substance and a used syringe in Dorough’s front pocket.
According to police, records from Court Net indicated Dorough previously faced a charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, with a guilty disposition entered on November 6, 2024.
Dorough was charged with third-degree fleeing or evading police, menacing, first-degree possession of a controlled substance – meth, 2nd offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
