Hopkins County Man Arrested on Multiple Drug Trafficking Charges

A Madisonville man is facing drug trafficking charges after law enforcement searched his home on Boggess Boulevard over the weekend.

Madisonville Police executed a search warrant at 32 Boggess Boulevard around 12:45 p.m. Saturday, where they made contact with the homeowner, 43-year-old Travis Offutt.

During the search, officers said they seized several baggies containing meth, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, including digital scales, smoking devices, and clear plastic baggies.

Before arresting Offutt, police said they found two separate baggies in his front pocket, containing multiple Xanax and Diazepam pills, which are classified as Schedule 4 controlled substances.

Offutt was booked into the Hopkins County Jail on charges of first-degree trafficking in methamphetamine – 2nd offense, trafficking in marijuana, third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
