A Madisonville man was arrested after allegedly claiming to be a federal agent and using intimidation tactics on a local resident.
Madisonville Police reported that 37-year-old Bradley Blanton was arrested around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday after officers responded to a call on Independent Drive. Officers said the victim reported that Blanton, who had recently been released from prison, assaulted him and continued to intimidate him. The victim also told police that Blanton claimed to be a federal agent and said there were cameras throughout the house recording him in the privacy of his bedroom.
Police said that when they spoke with Blanton, he claimed there were cameras in the house and that he was an undercover federal agent operating out of the Georgia field office.
Upon further investigation, police said it was determined that Blanton was not a federal agent, and he was taken into custody.
Blanton was charged with impersonating a police officer and booked into the Hopkins County Jail.
