The Hopkins County Grand Jury returned several indictments from its May session, including charges of stalking and wanton endangerment.

A true bill was returned on Sean Harvey of Madisonville on charges of first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree persistent felony offender, and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.

The charges stem from April 4, when Madisonville Police responded to a suspicious vehicle call on Lake Chester Drive. Police said they stopped a vehicle driven by Harvey, and when officers returned to the cruiser to verify his driver’s license and insurance, Harvey fled, leading to a pursuit toward Dawson Springs. Police reported that the pursuit ended when a spike strip was deployed by Dawson Springs Police and Kentucky State Police. Harvey was taken into custody without further incident.

Ronald McKenzie of Elizabethtown was indicted on charges of second-degree persistent felony offender and first-degree wanton endangerment.

The charges are from March 13, when Madisonville Police officers attempted to stop a vehicle driven by McKenzie on Interstate 69 for reportedly driving recklessly at speeds over 100 mph. The pursuit ended when police reported the SUV ran off the road, hit a light pole, caught fire, and flipped over. Police said McKenzie escaped the vehicle before it was engulfed in flames and then jumped over a barbed wire fence and fled on foot, but was quickly apprehended.

A true bill was returned on Bradley McGregor of Madisonville on charges of second-degree burglary, first-degree persistent felony offender, and first-degree stalking from an incident on March 18, 2025, investigated by the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office.

McGregor is accused of stalking his estranged wife and burglarizing her home on East Main Street in Earlington on March 18, where he allegedly unplugged the video surveillance equipment. Police said McGregor was taken into custody after he drove to Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville, where he reportedly brandished a knife and tried to force his way into his estranged wife’s vehicle in the parking lot while she was on a call with Dispatch.

The grand jury returned a superseding indictment on Carl Elliott of Clarksville, Tennessee, on two counts of first-degree stalking that occurred between October 6, 2024, and December 30, 2024. The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case.
