A call about a burglary in progress in Nortonville over the weekend led to the arrest of a man and a woman.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to a call at 160 South Hopkinsville Street in Nortonville just before 6:00 Saturday morning, where they discovered the back door of the residence open. Inside, deputies said they found 32-year-old Kalen Harris of Nortonville and 33-year-old Amanda Dame of St. Charles upstairs. The couple was taken into custody after deputies said they contacted the homeowner, who stated she wanted to press charges against the pair for trespassing on her property.
Both Harris and Dame were charged with first-degree criminal trespassing and transported to the Hopkins County Jail.
