Councilwoman Glenda Wade Highlights Black History Month

At last week’s Madisonville City Council meeting, Ward 6 Councilwoman Glenda Wade took a moment to emphasize the significance of February as Black History Month.

She highlighted the month is about the pride, achievements, and accomplishments that they have made and encouraged everyone to participate in Black History Month activities.

click to download audioWade also reflected on the celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy on January 20, honoring him as a martyr and the epitome of nonviolent protest. She noted that, regardless of the names he was called or the threats he faced, he remained steadfast in his pursuit of justice and led the movement with unwavering commitment through non-violence.
