Hopkins County motorists should prepare for a few road closures and traffic delays this week as state highway maintenance crews head out across the area.
According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the primary disruption for local drivers will be on KY 1338, where crews will be replacing a cross drain between the 1 and 2-mile markers, which will require a full road closure Monday through Wednesday.
Later in the week, drivers on KY 70 should expect flaggers directing traffic for tree trimming between the 0 and 7-mile markers on Thursday and Friday.
Additional delays are expected Thursday and Friday on KY 481 for rail mowing between the 0 and 2-mile mark, as well as on KY 262 for ditching operations. Flaggers will be present in both areas.
Mowing crews will also be active on various routes throughout Hopkins County all week long. As always, transportation officials remind drivers to use caution, slow down, and stay alert for workers and equipment in work zones.
