A Madisonville woman faces assault and other charges after police say she tried to hide a fugitive and kicked an officer Friday night.
According to a Madisonville Police report, officers went to a home on Crowley Lane just after 9:30 p.m., looking for a wanted fugitive. Police say 43-year-old Laura Hall initially lied to officers, claiming the fugitive was not inside.
The homeowner eventually brought the fugitive out, who police say was taken into custody without incident. However, police say when they tried to detain Hall for hindering the investigation, she became hostile. Authorities say Hall resisted handcuffs and kicked an officer in the leg before being brought under control.
Hall was charged with third-degree assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and hindering prosecution. She was booked into the Hopkins County Jail.
