The Hopkins County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office is marking the end of an era following the simultaneous retirements of two long-serving public servants, including the county’s first female chief prosecutor.

Officials announced on Monday that Commonwealth’s Attorney Kathy Senter has stepped down after a 32-year career as a prosecutor, having spent the last 12 years leading the office. Colleagues credited Senter with leading the district with integrity, passion, and intelligence. They said she was “a wonderful boss and colleague and the epitome of professionalism.”

Along with Senter, the office’s longtime administrative assistant, Lisa Harris, has also retired after 33 years of dedicated service to the Hopkins County community.

Colleagues also expressed deep gratitude for Harris’s decades of behind-the-scenes work, stating that her dedication to the office and the community “is appreciated and will be missed.”
