Henderson County High School has a new leader, and he is already a familiar face on campus.
The district has announced that Christian Klaas has been named the new principal of the high school. Klaas has more than 15 years of education experience and currently serves as the school’s Green Unit principal. Throughout his career, he has held numerous leadership roles at both the school and district levels, including Principal of Hanson Elementary School, Director of Secondary Instruction for Hopkins County Schools, and Assistant Principal at Madisonville North Hopkins High School.
In a written statement, Klaas said he is humbled and honored to lead a high-achieving school where excellence is the standard.
He replaces Amber Thomas, who is leaving the post to become the district’s new director of human resources.
Superintendent Dr. Bob Lawson praised the selection, calling Klaas “a Colonel through and through.”
