A Madisonville North Hopkins High School senior is being recognized statewide for his strength both on and off the football field.

According to school officials, Jayden Travis was recently selected as a member of the Tom Leach All-Resilient Team by the Kentucky Athletic Administrators’ Association. They say the award was presented to Travis during the annual KAAA banquet held in Louisville.

The “All Resilient Team” is a prestigious distinction that celebrates high school student-athletes across the Commonwealth who have overcome personal adversity on their path to success.

In addition to this latest honor, Travis earned first-team all-state honors for his performance this past season. His football career will continue at the collegiate level, as he has committed to play for Lindsey Wilson College this fall.

According to school officials, Travis secured a college football scholarship through determination and an unconventional journey. At just four months old, Jayden’s grandmother, Brenda, took custody, stepping up to raise him when she thought her days of parenting were behind her. With her unwavering support, Jayden thrived in high school—earning college credits at the local community college, maintaining a high GPA at Madisonville-North Hopkins, and excelling on the football field. He received first-team all-state honors with 53 catches, was named his team’s top receiver, and also earned the award for most pancake blocks.
